I have had a BL-1900 blender for years and I use it every day to make a smoothie. It works pretty well--far better than a Kitchen-Aid blender that cost three times as much. The secret with a smoothie is to use a slow speed. The blade is the biggest problem. The bearings wear out after 6-12 months and the blade has to be replaced. I have taken the perspective that the blades are expendables that have to be replaced periodically, like a printer cartridge. I hope they will become available again before I need one.

I am not surprised that this part is not available. The point where the blade screws into the assembly is stripped. Must be substandard materials used in manufacturing this part. Also no matter what speed this blender is on I can not obtain a puree without large chunks remaining not to mention trying to make a smoothie. Someone should look at the physics behind making a well oriented blade in order to obtain desired blending. I'm sure if you take a look at blueprints from the 1950's you would find what you are looking for because that's when people made parts to last. GO GREEN BLACK AND DECKER OR GO BROKE
Must be junk!

Obviously blenders aren't B&D's cup of tea. Everyone must need this part because it is not available anywhere!!
